Though his sideman credits extend from a zydeco apprenticeship with Clifton Chenier through his breakthrough association with John Hiatt, Landreth finds a unique musical niche on his own recordings, combining the literacy of a Southern storyteller with the chops of a guitar hero. The 20 track compilation available for the first time on CD, features material recorded in the mid-70's by a 22-year old Landreth on guitar, mandolin, piano and occasional vocals. These early recordings comprise the longlost album of a slide guitar king.
